Network Video Surveillance from Small to Enterprise
Milestone XProtect is a family of IP Video Management Products covering small installations to large multi-site corporations. The system is hardware independent and runs on standard PC hardware and Windows operating systems. All versions are built on the same core features and common client software providing a similar look and feel but with some advanced features limited to the more powerful versions. It supports over four hundred different models of cameras, network video servers and selected digital video recorders from some thirty plus manufacturers.
XProtect Basis+ is an entry level, single server, product designed for small systems of up to 25 cameras. Supporting both MJPEG and MPEG4 video streams, video motion detection, PTZ control, I/O operations and a remote client It provides all the featured needed for a small video management solution. It supports the add-on Transact module for EPOS integration.
XProtect Professional is a single server solution for small to medium businesses requiring up to 64 cameras and supporting up to five concurrent clients. In addition to the functionality provided by Basis+ it adds a number of more advanced features including native database export, PDA Client, Virtual Matrix, multiple audio channels, advanced PTZ control with preset patrolling and multiple patrol schemes, enhanced event controls, archiving to network drives and SMS messaging.
XProtect Enterprise provides all of the features of XProtect Professional but adds multiple server support to extend overall capacity to an unlimited number of cameras and clients. Other additional features include hourly archiving schedules, support for additional video streams - (MxPEG, MPEG4 ASP and H.264), increased daily recording capacity up 960GB per device and Microsoft Active Directory support.
XProtect Corporate is a relatively new product designed from the outset to meet the requirements of large corporate installations covering multiple sites managed from a single central location. Where it differs from the other products is primarily concerned with central management and configuration adding features such as automatic device scanning, centralised device, recording server and user management, device group support, advanced rule system, automatic device MAC address registration, online activation and multiple notification profiles.
